Listing Feed

Here at Otalo, we want to help renters find the perfect vacation home. To that end, if you run a website that lists vacation rentals, the best way to get your properties into the Otalo search index is to provide us with an XML feed. Providing a feed insures that the information about your properties is both accurate and timely.

Because Otalo provides more detailed search results than other search engines, we have developed our own XML format for property listings. Our XML feed format is currently documented with an XML Schema and an example XML file. If you have any questions regarding the various elements of the feed, technical implementation, or anything else with regards to the topic, don't hesitate to contact us.

Providing a feed

In order to provide a feed that we can load into our index, you must first contact us and request a new "source ID". Please provide us with:

• The URL to your site
• The name you would like us to display for your site in hyperlinks
• The tagline that you use to describe your site (typically 4-6 words)
• The URL to your feed

We will enter these into our system and provide you with a source ID that you can use in your XML feed.
